November 4, 1996 I wrote a letter to the "Verband der Familien Lampe und verwandter Familien e.V., Hannover".

I just couldn't ignore the message of Fred RUMP, who mentioned that LAMPING is a patronym of LAMPE. He also stated that bearing the name LAMPING doesn't mean that we are descendants of only one ancestor. We can however try to find out how many of those ancestors exists.

Ten days later, I received a letter from Heinz Max LAMPE. He checked his database and found a few LAMPINGs, which are mentioned here below.
There are some other documents which I can buy.

The LAMPE-Archiv is deposited in Niedersachsen, Hauptstaatsarchiv, Magazin Pattensen (14 km from Hannover).
