Biography* 
She was born on the West Side of Chicago at 469 Ogden Avenue. Her father abandoned the family on October 15, 1893, just 3 days after she was born. Her mother raised the children the best she could, but took ill. At the age of about 6 years, Gladys was placed with the Sisters of the Good Shepherd at Good Shepherd Orphange on the North Side of Chicago. She was later taken into a foster home by Mary Burke, of Wilmington, IL when she was about 12 years old. She was a substitute school teacher.
 
Illness She was ill with Gladys had Lupus. 
(Witness) Death30 September 1961 She witnessed Henry G. Chapin's death at Johnson Nursing Home on 30 September 1961.3
